Think you, your friends & family can handle 3 hours of tree top adventure? Can you climb 30ft up a rope ladder, Tarzan Swing into a giant rope net then zip wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high wire rope bridges? If the answer’s yes, you’re ready to Go Ape!

Min age: 10 years

Min height: 1.40m / 4 feet 7 inches

Max weight: 130kg / 20.5 stone

Under 18yr olds must be accompanied by a participating adult. One participating adult can supervise EITHER two under 18 year olds (where one or both children are 10-15 years old) OR up to five 16-17 year olds.

The Wyre Forest

The Wyre Forest covers a large area bordering on the River Severn. It provides diverse terrain for orienteering and walks. The forest is rich in plant and animal life and the whole area is well-suited to environmental study and wildlife projects.

Two miles away, the Forestry Commission manages a Visitor Centre which is open seven days a week and provides a restaurant, souvenir shop, forest displays and information. Three way-marked footpaths and two cycle trails are available for general use.

The adjoining Discovery Centre may be booked for activity sessions in the forest. For more details about Forest Fun programmes please call the Discovery Centre on 01299 266929.

Facilities at the Centre

The facilities include:
A large dormitory which sleeps sixteen people in bunk beds.
An adjacent wash room contains showers, toilets and washbasins.
A further three dormitories sleep a total of fourteen individuals in bunk beds.
An adjacent wash room contains showers, toilets and washbasins; and there is a separate disabled toilet.
The games room contains a table tennis table and a pool table.

Two bedrooms on the first floor are suitable as leaders' rooms, or to provide extra dormitory accommodation.
One room has six beds, the other four, and both rooms have access to their own shower room and toilet.

Heating is provided by oil-fired central heating, which can be controlled by zone.

Blankets and pillows are provided, but groups are requested to bring their own towels and bed linen or sleeping bags.

About the Centre

The Far Forest Centre is a residential centre for use of groups of children and young people. In particular, we welcome cubs, brownies, scouts and guides, church youth groups and Duke of Edinburgh's award groups. Set in the idyllic rural village of Far Forest, just off the A456 on the A4117, the centre offers basic, warm, self-catering accommodation for up to forty people and has a small grassed area at the rear, together with ample car parking space. Opposite is a spacious games field. Charges are kept to an absolute minimum so that the centre's facilities can be enjoyed by as many people as possible. The centre is the old village school and school house which have recently been modernised to provide a residential centre. It is located in a quiet lane near the church and is within easy walking distance of the Wyre Forest.
